   1      November 16, 2021   Beauty in Madness  Ruiyan Qi   I grew up seeing the painting The Starry Night everywhere around me and I always thought it was beautiful although I did not pay much attention to it. It was only after studying the piece of art by Van Gogh that I got to appreciate it. I understood the experiences of the man behind the art and what he was going through at the time and got to appreciate the amount of beauty that comes from negative experiences. II Concept Addressed: Contemplation   Contemplation is t he action of looking thoughtfully at something for a long time. Thus, art contemplation is the action of looking at a piece of art thoughtfully for a long time, as it happens when one is engaged in the practice of visual thinking strategies.
